What works offline?
Accounts, transaction entry, categories, budgets, recurring items, reports, and forward-looking calculations work from the local database without a connection.
Offline budget app
Updated July 15, 2026 · Simply Finance
Record spending, check balances, review budgets, and read your financial runway on a plane, underground, or anywhere a connection is unreliable.
The working ledger lives on the device. A server is optional transport between your devices—not the place your budget runs.
Simply Finance does not need to fetch your ledger before it can show a balance or save a transaction. Your accounts, categories, budgets, recurring items, and reports are computed from data already on the device.
That makes ordinary use fast and predictable, and it limits the damage a service outage can cause: the app keeps working.
Full Version can move encrypted changes between your devices. The recovery phrase supplies the key; the relay stores and forwards ciphertext it cannot turn into balances, merchants, or amounts.
If you prefer one device, leave sync off and export backups on your own schedule. Read the technical guide before choosing.
If bank feeds matter more than offline ownership, compare the trade-off on the no-bank-sync guide.

If optional sync is enabled, encrypted changes can move between your devices. The relay receives ciphertext rather than a readable ledger.
No. You can export a backup yourself, and Full Version adds optional end-to-end encrypted device sync.
